Fashion and Sustainability

Hello everyone,

Welcome to this space. This is Dr. Hakan Karaosman, a social scientist researching environmental and social sustainability in complex fashion supply chains. After completing a double degree PhD in Industrial Management with a thesis entitled ‘Sustainability Integration in Luxury Fashion Supply Chains: An Empirical Investigation of Leather and Textiles in Italy’ and with more than a decade of interdisciplinary research, my expertise lies in luxury, clothing and textile production, operations and supply chain management.

This space is intended to give you a brief insight into my work, professional and personal endeavours, with the central aim of using scientific research as a tool for radical change in the luxury and fashion industry to bring justice to all those working across complex fashion supply chains.

My research into sustainability, luxury and fashion supply chains is very personal to me. I am the proud son of a garment worker. Therefore, my research, and projects in general are dedicated to garment workers around the world.
